Bowls Australia (BA) is the national sporting organisation responsible for the leadership, development and management of lawn bowls in Australia. Our Mission is to grow the sport of bowls while demonstrating our Core Values.

BA is a not-for-profit organisation governed by a voluntary board that provides the strategic direction for the sport and the strategies that are implemented by the staff at the national office. BA’s members are the nine state and territory bowls associations. There are over 1,900 clubs and over 602,000 participants nationwide.

Australian Institute of Sport

The AIS is the principal sponsor and partner of Bowls Australia.
The AIS provides Bowls Australia with funding to ensure they have the capacity to create a sustainable sport through best practice governance and administration, intellectual property ownership, athlete management and support structures and general accountabilities.
Importantly, the winning partnership highlights the commitment to ensuring Australian athletes excel in the international sporting arena, and increasing Australians’ participation in lawn bowls.
