Bowls Australia (BA) is the national sporting organisation responsible for the leadership, development and management of lawn bowls in Australia. Our Mission is to grow the sport of bowls while demonstrating our Core Values.
BA is a not-for-profit organisation governed by a voluntary board that provides the strategic direction for the sport and the strategies that are implemented by the staff at the national office. BA’s members are the nine state and territory bowls associations. There are over 1,900 clubs and over 602,000 participants nationwide.
The AIS is the principal sponsor and partner of Bowls Australia.
The AIS provides Bowls Australia with funding to ensure they have the capacity to create a sustainable sport through best practice governance and administration, intellectual property ownership, athlete management and support structures and general accountabilities.
Importantly, the winning partnership highlights the commitment to ensuring Australian athletes excel in the international sporting arena, and increasing Australians’ participation in lawn bowls.
The Australian Commonwealth Games Association (ACGA) is keen for Australia to be represented by the best prepared players atDehli 2010and has therefore provided Bowls Australia with funding to help prepare our teams. The ACGA is also providing funding under the Australian Junior Commonwealth Games Squad (AJCGS) Program to help develop young players who have been identified as having the potential to represent Australia in 2010 and 2014.
Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) is a statutory body of the Queensland Government and its lead marketing, destination and experience development and major events agency.
Queensland’s destinations are at the heart of all our activity, which provides the support, resources, and leadership needed to build a sustainable tourism framework for Queensland. In partnership with government, regional tourism organisations, industry and commercial stakeholders, we aim to build Queensland’s tourism and events industry to foster innovation, drive industry growth and boost visitor expenditure.
